Why do we care? What makes us get out of bed each day and live our lives to the fullest we can? MASOFESTO is the exploration of the why. Borrowing imagery from the natural world, these posters aim to evoke a peace and pause from its audience, giving them a second to get lost in their textures and details and think, what do I care about? Similar to magic eye posters, these prints are exercises in noticing and slowing down. Some of the imagery is familiar and easy to understand, while others are more abstract and less representational giving the audience opportunity to wonder and draw their own conclusions of what they may be looking at.
The only piece of information on the poster is a symbol of a bird. The bird, always flying upward on the poster, is representative of the themes explored in the MASOFESTO. The bird flies alone through the noise, sometimes hidden and sometimes contrasting the textural posters. But when all eleven posters are placed together they form a flock, an echo of community - one of the main
themes explored in this project. So slow down, notice, and spend time thinking about why you care.
